What Are Family Constellations?

Untangling Ancestral Patterns, Restoring The Orders Of Love

Close-up of multiple hands stacked together in a sign of unity.

Family Constellations is a profound experiential and systemic approach developed by Bert Hellinger. It explores how family dynamics, unresolved generational trauma, hidden loyalties, and unspoken losses across generations continue to influence our present-day lives.

At the core of this work are the Orders of Love—universal principles governing how belonging, systemic order, and the balance of giving and receiving foster harmony within family systems.

Common Concerns Explored in the Field:

  • Repeating destructive family or relational patterns

  • Persistent strain with parents, partners, or children

  • Transgenerational trauma, unresolved grief, or early loss

  • Deep-seated feelings of disconnection or not belonging

  • Unexplained emotional weights or family loyalties

  • Opening & Introduction: A brief grounding practice and overview of Family Constellations and the Orders of Love.

  • 2 to 4 Live Constellations: Facilitating 2 to 4 live constellations per session based on the organic readiness of the field.

  • Flexible Ways to Participate: Every participant pays the same tuition and is welcome to engage as a client (bringing a personal question), a representative (standing in for family members or systemic elements), or a quiet observer holding sacred space.

  • Systemic Interventions: Utilizing systemic observation, boundary restoration, and healing sentences to honor what is and move toward resolution.

  • Reflection & Integration: Time for silent integration, allowing the movements to settle naturally into daily life.

Each group session is a sacred, guided container structured to support safe exploration, systemic understanding, and collective integration.

Important Notes on Participation & Integration:

1. Equal Learning Across Every Role & Selection of Constellations

  • Each one-day workshop typically accommodates 2 to 4 live constellations.

Constellations are chosen organically based on

  • The readiness of the individual and the group on that day

  • Providing opportunities as fairly as possible over time

  • What appears most relevant to the group's overall learning and systemic exploration

Whether you receive a constellation, step in as a representative for another’s family system, or quietly observe from the circle, every role offers an equal opportunity to receive deep insights. Representatives often experience mirror-like revelations for their own lives, while observers gain clarity by witnessing universal human dynamics unfold.

The Ongoing Process of Integration

Although the group workshop comes to an end, the systemic constellation process continues. Participants often notice emotional shifts, newfound clarity, or subtle changes in family relationships unfolding over the days or weeks that follow. Allowing time and gentle space for this integration is a essential part of the healing journey.

You Are Supported:

If any questions, unexpected emotions, or lingering dynamics surface as you process your experience after the workshop, please do not hesitate to reach out. I am here to support your integration process.

Preparation & Circle Guidelines

Entering a constellation space is a sacred, collective act of courage. To support a grounded and respectful environment for all participants, we honor the following principles:

  • No Prior Knowledge Required: You do not need to research your entire family history or present detailed genealogy. Simply arrive with an open heart, comfortable clothing, and a genuine intention for internal clarity.

  • Somatic & Intuitive Presence: Constellation work operates through body awareness rather than intellectual analysis. All that is required is your willingness to listen to physical sensations and trust the organic movement of the field.

  • Strict Confidentiality: Everything shared, witnessed, and experienced within the circle remains strictly within the circle. Every participant agrees to honor the privacy of all family systems presented.

  • Educational & Systemic Scope: Family Constellations is an experiential, systemic modality for personal growth and spiritual healing. It is not a substitute for clinical psychiatric diagnosis or medical treatment.
