Shamanism, Dying, and Beyond™ Workshop
Participants learn how to deal with the issue of dying and the destiny of souls from a shamanic perspective. Developed by Michael Harner, this workshop is designed both for those who wish to learn for themselves, and for those who wish to help others who are in terminal situations or who have already passed on. Learn what happens to human souls after they leave the body, become familiar with the after-death realms, and practice the classic psychopomp ("conductor of souls") methodology.
In this 2-day workshop, you will learn and practice:
Destiny of Souls & The After-Death Realms
Explore what happens to human souls after leaving the body through shamanic journeywork, becoming familiar with after-death realms and the structure of Non-Ordinary Reality.
Spiritual Support for Terminal Situations
Learn compassionate ways to support individuals in terminal situations, offering spiritual power and presence to help individuals and loved ones transition peacefully.
Classic Psychopomp Methodology
Master the ancient psychopomp ("conductor of souls") practice to locate deceased souls desiring assistance and guide them from the Middle World to Upper or Lower World spiritual realms.
Healing Personal Loss & Grief
Reframe personal grief and loss within a spiritual context, understanding death as a continuation rather than an ending, bringing renewal, clarity, and strength to everyday life.

Prerequisites, CE Credits & Workshop Expectations
- Prerequisite Options: Completion of The Way of the Shaman® Basic Workshop (In-Person) OR the three FSS online workshops (The Shamanic Journey™, Shamanic Divination in Practice™, and Shamanism, Spirits, and Healing™) is required before attending.
- Full Attendance Required: You must complete all sessions of this 2-day workshop to receive the FSS Certificate of Completion and CE credits.
- 13 FSS CE Credits: 13 Continuing Education Credits are awarded by the Foundation for Shamanic Studies upon full completion.
- Gold Certificate Pathway: Successful completion of this workshop fulfills one of the required prerequisites for the FSS Gold Certificate of Completion.
- Recording Policy: Electronic recording (audio, video, photography) and the use of computers, tablets, or cellphones are strictly prohibited during sessions.
- This workshop is designed exclusively for people who want to bring shamanic healing work into their practice with others. This training is not designed for people looking for personal healing.
- Participants must be able to successfully journey in the Upper, Lower, and Middle Worlds, and have a strong relationship with a Power Animal and/or Teacher from the Upper or Lower Worlds.
